Dean Began training in Martial Arts at the age of 5 years old and with a brief gap whilst studying has maintained that training to this day. Starting out in the Korean form of Karate known as Tang Soo Do, he trained in this style for 14 years achieving the rank of third degree black belt. A keen competitor Dean won several world championships and multiple local events spanning 11 years before wanting to focus on the self defence aspect of martial arts. in 2013 Dean began training Krav Maga in Hainault Essex under Ricky Manetta. This training gave him a hunger for more knowledge which lead him to begin training in several other martial arts. To complement Ricky's teachings in Krav Maga Dean began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu first under Andy Nugent of CFS BJJ and after moving away from the area finding a new home at Escapology BJJ where he continues to train and compete under the watchful eye of world renowned black belts Tom Barlow and Chelsea Leah. Dean has traveled far and wide to train at some of the best gyms in the world, acquiring knowledge from the best minds in martial arts.
